To expand our ability to get our message out to all parts of the 4th District and to be as competitive as possible, the campaign needs to raise $12,000 before the end of July.

Your donation in any amount will be a big help to support this non-partisan, completely independent, solutions driven voice for the 4th District!

Thank you for your support.

Federal law requires us to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of individuals whose donations exceed $200 per election cycle. Each individual may donate up to $2400 per primary and $2400 per general election from personal funds. Contributions are not tax deductible.

Money and Campaign Financing

I fully understand the importance of money in playing a role in getting my message, any message for that matter, before the public. However, I believe that especially in politics where it is so easy to allow money to become the central focus and it is so easy to create an atmosphere where the reliance on money colors the trust that must exist in the politician to do the job without bias. I fully believe that the most glaring deficit in America today is not the national deficit as measured by the dollars in the national debt, but the national "deficit" of trust in the politicians of today. So much money is expended by lobbyist that Washington politics has become synonymous with tainted politicians.

I believe that it is important for the voters to know that their representative can’t be "bought" for any amount of money. I believe that spending tens of thousands of dollars to "win" a job that pays less than the money expended to get it naturally creates the impression that politics is excessively tainted with money. I believe that at each level there should be an agreed to spending limit for each campaign. In that regard, I will limit my own campaign to spending no more than 10%, per election cycle, of the amount of the position’s annual salary (currently $174,000). I believe that such an amount is adequate to run a campaign in a district like ours. Further, I will only accept donations from individuals within this district. I currently work for the State and it is a conflict of interest if I accept gifts from businesses that I do business with. I think this same standard should apply to running for public office. Therefore I will accept only donations from individual constituents within this district. Further, should I be elected, I will assure each of you that I will never accept one dollar of lobbyist money nor money from any organization public or private, or any corporation.

Should you choose to support this campaign financially, let me express my appreciation to you and I will work to uphold the trust that such an office must hold to adequately and ethically represent only the best interest of the constituents of this district.
